Things to do in Cambridge

Summer in the City

Punting down the River Cam

Nearly halfway through 2022, and we have already enjoyed lots of events here in Cambridge. Looking forward and there is plenty to take part in this Summer!

July Jollies:

A reminder that Christ’s College takes part in the National Open Gardening Scheme  on Sunday 24th July. Our Gardens will be open for members of the public to enjoy whilst having tea and cake!

At the end of July see a welcome return of the Cambridge Folk Festival. After a 2 year break the festival returns to Cherry Hinton Hall. With headliners including the Gypsy Kings, Suzanne Vega and Passenger. If your planning to attend the Folk Festival for just the one day or the whole 4 days remember accommodation is available here Christ’s College (find our best rates, direct!) The festival runs from Thursday 28th July – Sunday 31st July.

August Activities:

Although August can be a pretty quiet month events wise, Cambridge still has plenty of things to keep you busy, of course while the weather is nice (hopefully) punting is a must do if you are in the Centre of Cambridge or perhaps a guided walk?  Cambridge Tour Guides offer walking tours both for private groups and with other members of the public, they have a vast range of knowledge and have been awarded 5 stars on Trip advisor.

If the weather is set fine, Duxford Imperial War Museum host an and unique experience of an evening air show. As the sun goes down you can experience Duxford at dusk.

September Shows:

If you are staying with us here at Christ’s College over the 10th & 11th September, you can experience a Weekend at Duxford Imperial War Museum as it showcases the Battle of Britain air show.

The 11th September also sees the return the of the Bridge the Gap – Charity Walk, a unique walk through the grounds of Cambridge Colleges all in aid if the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

Before our students return in early October, Cambridge hosts its Autumn food, home and craft fair, running over the Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th September on Parkers Piece, it’s certainly a must attend for all you foodies

Christ’s College Bed & Breakfast Accommodation runs from Saturday 9th July until Sunday 25th September 2022.

We look forward to welcoming you to Christ’s soon!
